Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (born 5 May 1988), known professionally as Adele, is an English singer-songwriter. It was the first recipient of the Brit Awards Critics Choice "and was named the number one predicted breakthrough act in 2008 an annual survey of music critics BBC, Sound of the 2008th Since his first album 19, Adele has received many recognition, both commercial and critical. The album debuted at number one and went platinum in the UK 4x. His career in the United States was spurred by a record audience episode of Saturday Night Live in late 2008. At the 2009 Grammy Awards Adele won the award for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Performance.
